Red Mesa Black-on-White Pitcher
Anasazi (Prehistoric Pueblo); Cibola Whiteware; medium size pitcher; 870-950 A.D.
Gray clay sand temper mineral paint; thin parallel lines, ticking, solid triangles, blocky designs. Pitcher with a globular body, restricted cylindrical neck, direct rim, and strap handle. Zonal decorations feature three thick encircling bands around the body that are filled with a series of angle-fringed interlocking spirals. All the framing bands are decorated with pendant dots.
